The Manchester Ball is an annual event which has been raising funds for local and national charities since 1987.
The Ball takes place during November and draws on the professional and business community of Manchester and Cheshire for support and patronage.
This year we will be celebrating the 24th Anniversary of The Manchester Ball and hope to make this year’s event a night to remember. The 2011 Manchester Ball will take place on Friday 18th November and will be held at the Hilton on Deansgate in Manchester, and includes a VIP champagne reception in the fabulous Cloud 23.
The Manchester Ball is organised by Paul Chorlton and Anne Morris. If you are interested in supporting The Manchester Ball in aid of Manchester Settlement, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to email paul.chorlton@themanchesterball.com or call 07976 363085, and we would love to chat with you about the Manchester Ball.
The Manchester Settlement is a charity set up in 1895 to address the effects of poverty in the neighbourhoods of East Manchester. Today the charity still works with young people and children from some of the most deprived communities in England. Most of the young people they help are from disadvantaged and chaotic backgrounds with low self-esteem and without aspirations and their aim is to fully engage these young people who are in need of help and support to turn their lives around. For more information visit www.manchestersettlement.org.uk
The charity has undergone massive change during the last year. With funding from The National Lottery and Children in Need, it has moved from its previous home in Beswick to a newly established modern facility in Openshaw – a building which is in itself an inspiration to those using it and to the wider community. With the funds raised at this year’s Manchester Ball, we hope to help establish equipment and/or services to run from this centre which is proving to be invaluable as a refuge for the young people it serves.
